faq's
1. Do I or my group members have to Christians to participate in Guys Doing Life?
No. The curriculum is based on principles from the Bible and Christian faith and is designed to be relevant and appealing to
those with other backgrounds or no faith background at all.

2. Are donations to Guys Doing Life tax deductible?
Yes. We are a 501c3 recognized by the IRS as a faith based non-profit.
3. What are funds donated used for?
All donations are used for scholarships for men unable to pay for their materials and for direct costs of operating the
organization such as the website, printing, etc. All work is completed by volunteers with a heart to serve men.

4. I can’t commit to the full 11 weeks due to conflicts in schedule. Can I come periodically?
Our experience has been that the dynamic of the group suffers when people are absent or intermittently attending.
There will be unavoidable cancellations and changes, but if you know you won’t be able to attend 2 or more meetings to
start we recommend waiting until another session.

5. Is the material copyrighted or can we print it ourselves to use for our next group now that we have it?
We do want as many men to experience Guys Doing Life as possible. Purchasing through our website helps ensure you are
getting the most up to date and complete set of material and also helps us defray costs associated with operating the ministry.
Contact us directly if you have specific questions or needs.

6. Can our spouses or girlfriends attend Guys Doing Life meetings?
The curriculum is intended to allow men to open up and share common life challenges and experiences. The women may not
relate to the material in same way and it may have a chilling effect on some of the more sensitive discussion topics.
We don’t recommend women attend GDL meetings and there are many excellent programs available to facilitate healthy
Christian Women’s groups.

7. What age ranges are recommended to participate?
The best groups seem to function with men of similar ages, interests, and geographic backgrounds. Ages range from early
adulthood to senior citizens and everything in between!

8. Do I have to be certified or complete training to be a GDL group leader?
It is helpful to have a group leader with experience facilitating small groups. The beauty of the program and curriculum is that
each class is different and the discussion will vary from the prepared questions in a good way from time to time.
A leader’s guide is in the works, but isn’t a requirement to lead a class.
